The Trustees of Reservations Whitepapers
Whitepaper series using three properties of The Trustees of Reservations as case studies to explore the opportunities and benefits of nature-based resilience interventions for barrier beaches, coastal banks, and publicly accessible shorelines.
Project Background
The Trustees was awarded a grant for $82,000 to fund A Focus on Our Most Vulnerable Places, a first-of-its-kind coastal communications project to be awarded by the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management to a non-profit. The communications grant enabled The Trustees to create a whitepaper series and suite of multimedia content (podcasts, 360 panorama tours, and a video) incorporating perspectives from coastal landowners, stewards, visitors, and other stakeholders, as they considered coastal change, and resilience options.
My Role
I was tasked with designing a unified set of three whitepapers. Each document uses a different property that The Trustees manage highlighting perspectives on the threats and potential adaptation options available to manage these coastal landforms. Using photo assets and copy from The Trustees, I created a clean, easy to read series. To keep the reader engaged, the text is broken up with graphs and photos. The covers each have a different color within The Trustess brand to differentiate the properties while maintaining a consistent design style on the interior. View the whitepapers at the links below:
